Eco
Eco-friendly, or ecological, construction is building in a way that is beneficial or non-harmful to the environment, and resource efficient. This is also known as green building, this type of construction is efficient in its use of local and renewable materials, and in the energy required to build it, and the energy generated while being within it. Smyle Construction is keen to ensure that whenever possible any work we carry out has a minimum of impact upon our environment and our natural resources. This includes transporting materials and eliminating emissions of hazardous chemicals from poorly designed materials that create and traps them.
Other features of how we ensure ecological building include:
- The varied use of solar panels for domestic hot water heating
- Water conservation, possibly including biological waste water treatment and re-use, and the simple collection and recycling of rainwater for garden use
- Low energy electrical fittings
- Cellulose insulation
- Non-toxic or lead-free paints and wood preservatives
- Timber from sustainable managed forests
